Look Great in Photos – Even With Braces!
Do you feel like you never look good in pictures, and you’re afraid you’ll look even worse if you get braces?
Good news – there are a lot of ways to look great in photographs, and even having orthodontics doesn’t have to get in the way of your picture. Here are some tips to help you look good in every photo.
Smooth Your Hair
Whether you’re a girl or a guy, no one looks good with frizzy hair going everywhere. If you know you’re going to be in a picture, you can take the time to make your hair look nice. A simply brush or comb can make a big difference.
Even if you’re caught by surprise, though, you can simply smooth your hair to tame the frizz. In the end, don’t worry too much – remember, your friends and family just want a picture to help them remember you and the fun event you were at!
Smile Nice and Big
This is sometimes the biggest challenge for those who don’t enjoy pictures. If you have poor teeth alignment or yellowed teeth, you may be ashamed of your smile.
If you have braces, you may think you’ll look terrible in a picture. That’s far from the truth. In fact, there are two ways to handle having braces in a photo.
You can decide to make your orthodontics part of your style, temporarily. People enjoy having colored bands on their braces, and you can use it to represent a school or team you love. When you do that, there’s no reason not to smile!
You can also choose to have Invisalign to take care of crooked teeth. This option lets you smile big and no one can tell in the picture that you’re having your teeth straightened. It’s a great win-win for you and for your photos!
Turn at a 45 Degree Angle
The most flattering pose for most people is to stand at a 45-degree angle to the camera. You’ll notice when you see people posing on Instagram that they always stand at an angle.
You can also use a mirror to practice posing and decide which side looks most flattering. Many people prefer one side of their face or another, and that can impact how you pose for pictures.
When you determine your “good side” and learn to stand at an angle, you’ll be much happier with how you look in photos!
Choose the Right Clothes
If you have a chance to plan ahead, be sure to wear clothes that flatter you. That doesn’t mean all one color or that you have to wear black. Instead, choose a cut and color that looks good on your body and does well with your skin tone.
Many people like to wear colors that bring out the color of their eyes, for example. Think about how you can bring out your best features!
